ABOUT THE PROJECT

Interdisciplinary  Community Art Project (human-urban network), started in 2004 in order to restore commonly shared "spaces" of Residential building block in Laginjina 7 and 9 in Zagreb (elevators, facades, roof terraces, staircases, etc.) while reflecting of its tangible and intangible heritage as as a resources of sustainable renovation, maintenance and use. 
Interdisciplinarni projekt zajednice (humano-urbana mreža), započet 2004. u cilju obnove zajedničkih "prostora" stambenog Bloka Narodne banke u Laginjinoj 7. i 9. u Zagrebu (liftova, fasade, krovne terase, stubišta, itd.) te promišljanja njezine materijalne i nematerijalne baštine kao resursa održive obnove, održavanja i korištenja.

Building surface: 10.600m²

Description: Building comprises 72 apartments (9 x 3.5 bedroom; 36 x 3 bedroom; 4 x 2 bedroom; 20 x 1 bedroom; 3 x 2 bedroom) arranged over 10 (3 and 4) stories in building block of three units with main skyscraper suspended on large piloti. The building also incorporated different public and utility facilities/workshops, a hotel (now transformed in apartments) and caffe bar. The building has a large basement (coal deposit) now empty and ready for new usage.

Award: Main Yugoslavian Architectural award for residential building in 1962 (Award of daily newspaper Borba)
